Thanks to one of our members for posting this on the Railstream Watchers group. I had to get it from the archives and post it. Thanks Jonah Jacobs for catching this! Rebuilt from NS/SOU 2782 GP38 that was built in Junary 1970 is now rebuilt as GP38-2 NS 5624 and sister unit Ex-CR 8191 (GP38-2) is now NS 5348. Turn up your speakers and listen to the EMD 16-645E Roots-type blower as they crank up...

The cold is no match for the team at Metra! Saw workers out and about at 4am lighting the pots to keep the switches from freezing. Pretty cool to watch (especially from the comfort of the couch next to the fireplace). The railcam at Tower A2 is our newest Chicago, IL railcam. It is available for our Engineer level members on our mobile/TV apps as well as our website: www.railstream.net!

24 Hours at Chesterton...in Under 15 Minutes

Probably the most action-packed video we have published in a while. We compiled 24 hours worth of trains on our Chesterton railcams into a video, but, with some editing magic, all of those trains are seen here in under 15 minutes. Those were some very cool trains CSX & Norfolk Southern they also run in Knoxville as well they also cross each other and I really love Railstream it would of make my day if they had a camera in East Tennessee because I was born in Knoxville and I used to see the trains all the time Railstream you are amazing

@@Railstream You're missing out on a valuable opportunity by not streaming them here. I really don't like VRF, I think you're a more homegrown product but if you don't adapt to the game the game won't wait for you to play catch up.

I really miss the old facelift
NS 3633 is scrap now (I think)
Spoiler alert: they didn’t repair the truck. They just pulled the brake beams, levers and bottom rod out of it so it could be put back under the car and sent to the repair track. Any time a car is derailed, even if it’s just one wheel off the rail, the car is required to go to the shop and have, as a minimum, a roller bearing inspection done, which requires the trucks to be rolled out. During that process they’ll replace the missing or damaged parts. On a derailment site on a main track, the focus is on clearing the line as fast as possible, and there’s no time for repairs!
